Welcome to Northern Lights Soccer Club
President - Bill Casey

Northern Lights Soccer Club was formed in 1985 and our mission is to provide quality recreational and competitive soccer programs for youth ages 4 to 19 in the communities of Andover, Anoka, Coon Rapids, Elk River, Ramsey and surrounding areas. Our soccer programs are affiliated and regulated by Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA), United States Youth Soccer (USYS) and we are a division of Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association.

We encourage you to check back often as we continue to add features to our website for both our recreational and traveling soccer programs.  On the left side of this page you will find links to the programs we offer as well as forms, documents and other information you may find helpful.  Visit the ARAA home page and you will find a calendar that has our current and future events.

If there are features that you would find helpful or information that you are looking for and you can’t find them here, please feel free to email the ARAA Soccer Commissioner by clicking on the "Soccer Committee" link on the left side of the page and then selecting the email address of the NLS President.

Minnesota Revolution & Northern Lights SC Merger
Creating one of the largest soccer clubs in the metro area

On behalf of the Minnesota Revolution Soccer Club and Northern Lights Soccer Club’s Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce the merger of two leading soccer programs in the northern suburbs – Minnesota Revolution and Northern Lights Soccer Club.

We are excited about this transition as we leverage the strengths of both programs into one, creating a soccer club that services over 2,000 players on an annual basis.  The most streamlined and cost effective way to form this union while maintaining strength, integrity and recognition in the communities we serve was to maintain the Northern Lights Soccer Club (NLS) name.  Northern Lights Soccer will continue to operate under the Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association’s umbrella of sports to maintain our status as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  The effective date for this merger will be 8/1/08.

Mandatory PACT Training Seminars - Coming Soon to NLS
Parents And Coaches Together

Parents and Coaches Together (PACT) is an educational program developed at the University of Notre Dame’s Center for Ethical Education and Development. The program is based on the latest research from developmental and sports psychology and is designed to help coaches and parents to get on the same page in successfully creating a positive and nurturing climate in Minnesota youth soccer.

MYSA/PACT™ helps coaches and parents realize their unique roles in fostering athlete intrinsic motivation, developing character, optimal performance, well-being and satisfaction. This program helps develop the potential of youth soccer to all it can, and should be!

Together with Minnesota Youth Soccer Association, Northern Lights Soccer Club will be hosting mandatory MANDATORY seminars for parents that have kids in our U12 traveling program.  Also, all NLS coaches are required to attend the coaching segment of this training event.  Details are as follows:

Current Weather Conditions
Weather Cancellation Policy
Recreational Soccer Weather Cancellation
Please keep our weather policy in mind throughout the season; the hotline will only be updated for weather if there is a change in policy or if weather cancellations occur. Rain-out games will be announced on this hotline after 6:00pm (for 6:15 practices/games) or 7:15pm for 7:30 (games/practices) the day of the game. It is important to note that we will not cancel games/practices prior to the scheduled practice/game time due to weather unless it is obvious that the severe weather will interfere throughout the entire night. If there is not a hotline message canceling the scheduled game/practice, you should come to the fields because the weather is too questionable to predetermine cancellation. Please note that we do play in the rain but will cancel the games if the weather is severe.

Traveling Soccer Weather Cancellation
All weather related game cancellations will be determined at the field prior to game time.
