Fall Revs Academy - Important Notice

Minnesota Revolution Academy Players and Parents,

Due to logistical constraints with the merger and unavailable volunteer resources to administer the program, we are unable to offer a 2008 Revs Soccer Academy Fall Program. As the merger of the Northern Lights Soccer Club and Minnesota Revolution Soccer Club strengthens soccer in our community, we believe it is most important to provide high quality, complimentary programs for our membership. Although this is an unfortunate temporary setback, our board remains committed to provide recreational soccer programs at the Sunny Acres location in Anoka. Programming will resume in the spring/summer of 2009 at the Anoka location.

As an alternative option for the Fall 2008 season, you can register your U5 thru U13 child in the Northern Lights recreational program that uses Central Park in Ramsey. This program is Saturday mornings beginning 9/6 and concludes with the season ending tournament “Super Soccer Saturday” on 10/11. Please visit the website for more details and to register. Registration for the fall program will close on Tuesday, August 19^th so please register as soon as possible.

Creating one of the largest soccer clubs in the metro area

On behalf of the Minnesota Revolution Soccer Club and Northern Lights Soccer Club’s Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce the merger of two leading soccer programs in the northern suburbs – Minnesota Revolution and Northern Lights Soccer Club. We are excited about this transition as we leverage the strengths of both programs into one, creating a soccer club that services over 2,000 players on an annual basis. The most streamlined and cost effective way to form this union while maintaining strength, integrity and recognition in the communities we serve was to maintain the Northern Lights Soccer Club (NLS) name. Northern Lights Soccer will continue to operate under the Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association’s umbrella of sports to maintain our status as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The effective date for this merger will be 8/1/08.

We remain dedicated to serve our complete combined membership and maintain recreational, competitive and training opportunities in the communities we have historically served. Beginning with the fall 2008 soccer programs, all Minnesota Revolution and Northern Lights players will register for soccer through the Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association (ARAA) website, all registration links for the Minnesota Revolution website will re-direct automatically.

For 2009 Traveling Soccer Teams

We had a record attendance for our Traveling Soccer player assessments over the past week. We want to thank everyone that registered online in advance; it saved a lot of time and insures the data integrity necessary for this process. Please be aware that the non-refundable, one-time $25 assessment fee will be applied to your summer 2009 player registration fee.

IF YOU MISSED PLAYER ASSESSMENTS PLEASE READ BELOW….

We are now forming teams for the summer 2009 season. If you DID NOT pre-register online and you missed our player assessments, we are unaware of your intention to participate in our traveling soccer program next summer. Our goal is to get all interested players placed on teams. If you have not done so already, you will need to register online and make your first installment payment of $25.

“INTENT TO PLAY” FOR SUMMER 2009……WHAT ARE YOU DOING NEXT SUMMER?

As mentioned above, we would like to know what you or your kid’s intentions are for next summer. By gathering all of the information now, we can better prepare to meet our goals of placing all kids that desire to play traveling soccer on a team. Also, we gain the advantage of knowing now where we will need players so we can advertise open positions.
